Neutron and X-Ray Scattering - Tools
NeXS is well equipped for laboratory experiments with X-rays. The participating groups operate a wide range of diffractometers for powders and single crystal studies and reflectometers. Neutron scattering facilities are based at international laboratories. These are the major collaborations:
Neutron Powder Diffraction
Uppsala University participates in the VR funded project to upgrade and exploit the POLARIS diffractometer at ISIS (in co-operation with Chalmers and Stockholm Universities). Particular emphasis is on establishing new sample environments.
Neutron Reflection
The ADAM reflectometer at ILL, Grenoble is run by a co-operating reseach group that consists of Uppsala University ad Ruhr University Bochum.
Resources to help with Scattering Experiments
The following WWW resources are made available at Uppsala to help the scattering community:
- Swedish Neutron Scattering Society web site.
- Software to analyse neutron reflection data - Reflection Software
- Catalogue of neutron reflectometers - worldwide catalogue
- A glossary of terms used in small-angle scattering: Glossary for SAXS and SANS
