Physics Education Research (PER)
The Division of Physics Education Research (PER) aims to better understand critical issues in the teaching and learning of physics. Our activities are principally situated in university education settings. They combine and integrate theories of learning, the knowledge and practices of physics, and teaching and learning experiences. For a general introduction see our popular science presentation.
Ongoing Research

Our main areas of interest explore the teaching and learning of physics from interrelated perspectives such as:
The Role of Representations in Physics Education
Understanding Physical Phenomena
Complexity Thinking in Physics Education Research
Understanding Physics Teaching and Physics Teacher Education in New Ways
